New Castle County police are searching for at least two masked men, one apparently carrying a rifle, who knocked on doors in the Mallard Pointe neighborhood late Friday. No arrests have been made, and authorities believe the weapons may have been airsoft-style guns.
Last summer a kid with a paintball marker locked down three blocks for four hours. Ended in an apology and a shrug. Nobody knocked on a door. That’s the difference here. These two wanted doors opened. Airsoft or not, you don’t need real steel to earn a real funeral. Police will find them Tuesday, probably. The neighborhood gets to sleep badly until then.
