Ninth out of fourteen. A bronze medal in the consolation bracket. Where I live, that means my neighbour still needs three months, a bank statement and a prayer to visit family in Guadeloupe, while somebody on the radio sells “global mobility” like it’s a rum punch. Fifty-ninth worldwide — celebrate quietly. The queue outside the visa office is longer than the press release.
