A Physics World quiz of the week poses a question about how microgravity may alter the structure and dynamics of the human genome.
Quiz of the week, huh. So the big question is whether microgravity scrambles our DNA, and the answer is apparently a multiple-choice exercise. Cute. Here’s what nobody bothers to mention: astronauts are a sample of about a dozen people, mostly middle-aged, mostly from the same two space agencies, flying for six months at a time.
Oh great, a quiz question about microgravity and DNA, as if astronauts haven’t been studied to death already. Congrats, we’ve invented the pop quiz as a science outlet.
Another “quiz of the week” on space and biology, and we’re supposed to act like it’s a breakthrough. Last time it was a headline about astronauts’ DNA, and it fizzled into nothing. Different topic now, same hype, same empty payoff.
Quiz about genomes in space. Cool. Next they’ll ask if gravity is optional.
