Great, now we’re dating paintings by the stars. Van Gogh was just painting what he saw, nobody needed a telescope.
Oh, wonderful. Two researchers in Seoul squint at a painting, find a sky that roughly matches a July night in 1889, and suddenly the internet has a new “fact” to share. Where’s the methodology? Did they check the cloud-free sky over Saint-Rémy against meteorological records, or did they just overlay a planetarium screenshot on a swirl of blue paint? Van Gogh painted that village from memory and imagination.
