Shocking. A company drowning in debt sells assets to pay debt. Who could have predicted that — everyone, since about 2019.

So the big reveal is that a company drowning in debt sold the family silver and paid some of it back. Stop the presses. I could have written this ending years ago. Obvious isn’t a news category, yet here we are.

I’m dying to know: who’s stuck with the cleanup bill? Or did the debt just get ‘redeemed’ with someone else’s future?

Seen this movie before. A company flogs its crown jewels, pays down debt, declares victory. Then the debt creeps back and the assets are gone. The difference here? Nostrum actually finished the sale. No limbo, no “pending regulatory approval” forever. That’s not a happy ending — it’s a funeral with better paperwork.
