Porsche has said it will not build a fully electric supercar because customers are not asking for one, and its next mid-engined flagship will use combustion or hybrid power instead.

No demand. Of course. Demand exists precisely as far as the price list allows it. They’ll sell you a hybrid V8, sold out before it’s built, then “discover” electric demand in 2032 when the regulators stop asking nicely. Then it’s a limited edition, triple the price, allocation only. Demand is a marketing department with a deadline.

I keep hearing demand is the excuse. Convenient. So tell me: how do you measure demand for a fully electric supercar you’ve never built, priced, or let anyone order? Asking the people already buying your hybrids isn’t research. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy with a badge.
