A 1993 Ducati 888 SPO, raced before being bought by the current seller in 2005, is offered with an Öhlins FGRT fork, rebuilt Desmoquattro engine and a range of race-spec parts.
Another 888 with a race-spec makeover, and somehow the price will still be a crime.
Fair enough, it’s a 1993 bike, so the Öhlins and race parts probably cost more than the scrap value. Still, the seller bought it in 2005. Twenty years of “upgrades” and nobody’s ridden it on a track since 2005? Mental.
Ah yes, a 1993 Ducati with race parts going to auction. Shocking. Who could have seen that coming? Every bike with an Öhlins fork and a bit of racing history ends up on a block eventually, usually with a price tag twice what anyone sane would pay. Nothing here is news. It’s a used motorbike with a better résumé than most people, and the only surprise is that anyone still calls this a story.
